Our Favorite Christmas Events in the Leland NC Area


Connected Home is excited about the holidays! We always try to bring the family to holidays events in the area. If you’re around, stop by and help us celebrate!

Here are a few of our favorite events coming up for the Christmas season:

10 a.m – Noon and 1-3 p.m. Nov. 25, 2016

Battleship NorthCarolina

Kick off the holiday season with the kids at the Battleship! Santa and the captain will sign flags. Pose with our Happy Huladays banner. Type your Christmas list on a vintage typewriter on authentic USS North Carolina stationery. Call the North Pole from the radio room. Battleship Ho Ho Ho is free with Battleship admission.

2 p.m. Dec. 3, 2016

Oak Island

The Christmas By the Sea Parade is a favorite jaunt for holiday-themed floats. Oak Island businesses and organizations will strut their stuff in a coastal holiday parade. Enjoy the fine weather on the island!

Southport

Celebrate Christmas in charming, historic Southport. Choose from the following events:

  • 3: Tree Lighting Ceremony– 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in Franklin Square Park.

  • 2, 3, and 4: Christmas in Song– Enjoy Christmas music at the Amuzu Theater.

  • 7: Annual Cookie Contest – 3-6 p.m., Southport Community Building. Supper with Santa’s Elves – 5-7 p.m. at 209 Atlantic Ave., $5 per child.

  • 8: Christmas Movie – “Polar Express”– 5-8 p.m., Fort Johnston Garrison Lawn. Christmas in Song – Enjoy Christmas music at the Amuzu Theater.

  • 9: Costumed Holiday Tour– 3 p.m. at the Maritime Museum. Light Up the Night Christmas Fire Engine Parade – 5:30 p.m., Waterfront Park and down Howe Street. Christmas in Song – Enjoy Christmas music at the Amuzu Theater..

  • 10: Winter Craft Festival – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Fort Johnston Garrison Lawn. Book Sale – 9 a.m. – noon, 727 N Howe St. Santa’s Workshop – 10-11 a.m., 209 Atlantic Ave. Old Timey Gospel Fest – 1-3 p.m., Southport Community Building. Old Brunswick County Jail Tours – 2-17 p.m., corner of Nash and Rhett Streets.

  • Christmas Tour of Homes– 2-7 p.m., historic downtown Southport, $15.

  • Southport Christmas Flotilla – 7 p.m., waterfront viewing from the Yacht Basin to Kingsley Park. Christmas in Song– Enjoy Christmas music at the Amuzu Theater. 11: Christmas in Song – Enjoy Christmas music at the Amuzu Theater.

10 a.m. Dec. 10, 2016

Leland

Since 1992, the Unity Group’s Christmas Festival has celebrated the season. The festival is at Town Hall park and the parade is from Division Drive off of Old Fayetteville Road to Town Hall Drive to the Clarendon Shopping Center on Village Road. Enjoy crafts, food, and entertainment at the festival.
