Movies We Recommend You Watch With Mom This Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is coming up May 15, 2015. Why not get Mom and, if possible, the whole family together for a movie night? This can be a great opportunity for quality time bonding over a good flick.

If you’ve got Netflix streaming, our suggested movies can help expedite the process of finding a winning movie for Mom this Mother’s Day.

And give your mom a hug too. Moms rock.

Meet Bill

Make Mom laugh! The comedy stars Aaron Eckhard (a bit of eye candy for Mom), a guy fed up with his job and married to a cheating wife and goes on to mentor a rebellious teen (perhaps even a bit like you!).

Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle

Celebrate girl power with Mom. The Angels investigate a series of murders that happen after someone steals a database of people in witness protection. Mom will love the action and storyline and the guys won’t be disappointed in the on screen talent either.

Grease / Grease 2

Most moms have probably seen at least the first one, but both are great for the whole family. Love, romance, friendship, fast cars and motorcycles.

The Seven Year Itch

Does Mom appreciate a blast from the past? Movies starring Marilyn Monroe are a sure thing. This movie is about when a faithful husband is tempted by his beautiful neighbor, Marilyn Monroe.

What’s Eating Gilbert Grape

A good movie for Mom and sons. In a backwater Iowa town, young Gilbert Grape has to decide between taking care of his troubled family or a girl who shows him new possibilities for his life.

Mona Lisa Smile

A very inspiring movie that deals with social issues like feminism and women’s transition from housewife to working mom.

Steel Magnolia

Great for moms and daughters to watch this bittersweet drama of five tight-knit women who bond at a beauty parlor in a small Louisiana town to laugh, cry and discuss their lives.

Silver Linings Playbook

An emotional movie with a great family dynamic with so many colorful characters to enjoy. This movie does a great job showcasing such a complex issue as mental illness.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

This is an old classic that never disappoints. Another timeless classic that will have mom giddy and stars Audrey Hepburn as the infamous Holly Golightly.

Heartbreakers

If your mom’s not like a regular mom, but more like a “cool mom”, you should watch this movie starring Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt as a mother-daughter con team.
